The Inspiration: The Potager
A French vegetable garden (Potager) in August. Crushed Tomato Vine explores the "Vegetal" side of green. It captures the unique, fuzzy, green-spicy scent of tomato leaves and vines. It is quirky, nostalgic, and hyper-realistic. A scent for the true green lover.
๐งช The Olfactory Architecture: Fuzzy Green
The scent opens with Tomato Leaf Accord and Basil. It is herbal and savory. The heart is Galbanum and Blackcurrant Bud (Cassis). The base is Vetiver and Soil. It smells like gardening hands.
๐ฟ Raw Material Sourcing: The Garden
-
Tomato Leaf Absolute (Synthetic Reconstruction): As tomato leaves yield no oil, we recreated the scent using Stemone and minty molecules to capture that fuzzy, green snap.
-
Basil Oil (Egypt): Adds a spicy, clove-like anise note.
๐ง The Scent Psychology: Nostalgia and Home
The scent of tomato vines often triggers childhood memories of gardens and summer. Crushed Tomato Vine is comforting in an unconventional way. It connects us to the source of our food and nature.
๐ฌ๐ง The London Lab Technology
We used Scent-Hologram. Creating a scent that feels 3Dโyou can smell the fuzz on the vine, the dirt on the root, and the sun on the leaf.

"It's polarizing. You either love it or hate it. But if you love it, you are obsessed. It smells like summer in the garden. Pure nostalgia."
