๐ฑ The Inspiration: The Roots
Hwyl is a tree; Vetiver Root & Soil is the root system. It digs deep into the dark, damp earth. This fragrance creates a heavy, grounding, and intensely masculine (yet unisex) profile. It smells of humus, roots, and darkness. It is the shadow of the forest.
๐งช The Olfactory Architecture: Dirt and Root
The scent opens with Grapefruit and Black Pepper. The heart is Dark Patchouli and Smoked Vetiver. The base is Oakmoss, Geosmin, and Roasted Coffee (a trace amount to enhance the earthiness). It is rich, dark, and savory.
๐ฟ Raw Material Sourcing: The Earth
-
Vetiver Haiti (Double Distilled): We use the "rootier" fraction of the oil, which smells nutty and earthy.
-
Patchouli Indonesia (Iron-Free): A clean, woody patchouli that adds depth without the "head-shop" vibe.
๐ง The Scent Psychology: Stability
Root scents are physically grounding. Vetiver Root & Soil makes the wearer feel immovable and solid. It is perfect for times of uncertainty or high stress. It provides a center of gravity.
๐ฌ๐ง The London Lab Technology
We used Root-Extraction Tech. We isolated the heavy sesquiterpenes in the vetiver oil, which are responsible for the deep, long-lasting woody notes, discarding the lighter, grassier top notes.

"It's dirty in the most beautiful way. It smells like digging your hands into rich soil. It's primal and comforting."
