๐ The Inspiration: A Night Drive in the Rain
The city lights reflected on a wet asphalt road, the smell of a hot car engine, and the interior of a vintage leather-seated coupe. Midnight Rider Noir takes the 2019 Leather profile and pushes it into the darkness. It is the most intense, smokey, and mysterious scent in our collection. It is for those who embrace the night and the secrets it holds.
๐งช The Olfactory Journey: Ink and Smoke
The opening is a dark, brooding mix of Black Pepper and Bitter Orange. The raspberry note here is subtle, like a ghost in the background. The heart is dominated by Black Thyme and a metallic Rose Oxide, creating an edgy, modern texture. The base is an overdose of Smoked Cade and Castoreum (Synthetic), creating a raw, animalic leather that smells like luxury and danger. It is thick, oily, and incredibly powerful.
๐ฟ Raw Material Sourcing: The Dark Arts
-
Smoked Cade Oil: Distilled from juniper wood, providing a campfire-like smoke that anchors the leather.
-
Rose Oxide: A metallic molecule that adds a sharp, "bloody" rose edge to the heart.
-
Patchouli Indonesia: A dark, chocolatey variety that adds depth to the dry down.
๐ง The Scent Psychology: Intrigue
Dark, smoky scents trigger feelings of mystery and allure. Midnight Rider Noir is an "introverted" powerhouse. It doesn't scream for attention; it commands it through quiet, dark presence. It projects an image of depth and complexity.
๐ฌ๐ง The London Lab Technology
We used Norlimbanol (Timber Pro) to give the scent incredible "dryness" and verticality. This molecule allows the smoke to project far and wide, ensuring that the scent doesn't just sit on your skin but fills the space around you with a dark, woody aura.
โจ The Application Ritual
When to wear: Late-night parties, rock concerts, or winter nights.
Where to spray: Chest and pulse points. One spray is often enough for this beast.
Style pairing: Black leather, dark denim, silver jewelry.
๐ญ From the Perfumer's Diary
"This is my tribute to the night. I wore this to a rooftop bar in Shoreditch during a thunderstorm, and the ozone in the air made the smoke notes explode. It's not for the faint of heart, but it is undeniably sexy."
