🪵 The Inspiration: The Roots
While Éclat de Vert focuses on the leaves, Vetiver & Moss Root digs deeper into the soil. It explores the root systems of the green plants. It is dark, earthy, damp, and mysterious. It contrasts the brightness of the original with the darkness of the earth. A fougère for the modern age.
🧪 The Olfactory Architecture: Soil and Shadow
The scent opens with Grapefruit and Black Pepper. The heart is Galbanum and Geranium. The base is an overdose of Haitian Vetiver and Oakmoss Absolute. It smells like rich, black potting soil and ancient trees.
🌿 Raw Material Sourcing: The Earth
-
Vetiver Haiti (Double Distilled): We use a clean, nutty vetiver that strips away the smokiness to focus on the "rooty" aspect.
-
Oakmoss (Low Atranol): A compliant moss extract that retains the inky, forest-floor smell of the banned vintage material.
🧠The Scent Psychology: Grounding and Stability
Rooty scents are physically grounding. Vetiver & Moss Root connects you to the earth. It is excellent for anxiety or high-stress situations, providing a sense of stability and permanence.
🇬🇧 The London Lab Technology
We used Humus-Accord. We recreated the scent of the forest floor (geosmin + patchouli) but filtered it to be wearable and elegant, ensuring you smell like a luxury forest, not a swamp.
✨ The Application Ritual
When to wear: Autumn walks, business meetings, or rainy days.
Where to spray: Chest and wrists.
Style pairing: Tweed jackets, wool sweaters, boots, and earth tones.
💠From the Perfumer's Diary
"It's deep. It pulls you down to earth. The contrast between the bitter green top and the dark rooty base is fascinating. It's a very intellectual scent."
